What is the Key Position Needed for Flat Towing a 2012 Jeep Liberty Behind a Motor Home

I asked jeep through their toll free number what setting the ignition key should be in for braking with the above unit and they stated that you wouldnt need to have the key on. 2012 Jeep Liberty. Whats up??

I checked the owners manual for a 2012 Jeep Liberty (starting on page 424) and it does seem to indicate that you would remove the key. I advise taking a look at the manual because only specific models can be flat towed and there is a specific procedure involved in doing so.

The issue that I have is that if the key is removed then the steering would lock and the wheels would scrub on turns.
