Can a Sidewinder Pin Box be Used with a 2013 GMC Sierra 2500HD Short Bed

I have this hitch and pin box on my 2006 Silverback Cedar Creek 5th wheel. I just purchased a 2013 GMC Sierra 2500HD short bed truck. Will this pin box work with this truck?

Sidewinders like # RP34FR are not vehicle specific so you can use it with your 2013 GMC Sierra 2500HD short bed. You just need a hitch that is compatible with the Sidewinder.

Use a fixed hitch with a Sidewinder as opposed to a slider hitch. First you will need an installation kit. I recommend custom installation kit # RP50066-58. Custom kits install faster and easier since there is much less drilling required compared to universal kits.

With the installation kit installed you can then get a compatible hitch. I looked up the specs on the Cedar Creek Silverback line and the gross weights top out under 14,000 pounds. A 16K hitch would have plenty of capacity.

A good entry level 16k hitch is Reese hitch # RP30047. This hitch offers a 4-way pivoting head and dual jaws for a secure connection. I have linked a video review to the right for you.
