7-Way or 6-Way Brake Controller Installation Kit Recommendation for a 2011 Ford Escape

Question:

I have a 2011 Ford Escape with backing sensors and have already installed the 4-way harness. I have not been able to find a factory installed plug for the brake controller. When I add the brake controller and kit for either the 6-way or 7-waywhich one is better? Ill have three power wires coming from the battery? Is that safe or do I need to alter the wiring some how??

I would go with a 7-way for brake controller wiring on your 2011 Ford Escape, this is a much more common style of connector on trailer wiring. So for that you would want the part # ETBC7.

Having three wires coming off of the positive post of your battery would not be an issue at all. I have had 3-4 coming off of the battery on my car for several years without any issues.
