Question:
I have the reese straight line hitch with dual cam set up on my 2006 dodge ram 1500. my tt weighs in around 6400 pounds loaded. I have the wd set up correctly I believe, only a 1/4 inch difference in front and 1 3/4 difference in rear of tv and tt sits level. the problem I am having is getting the round bars to release off the dual cams when taking them off after towing.i lift the tt with the jack as recommended and I have to beat on the bars with a rubber mallet to get them to release. any help will be apprieciated! thanks!!

I have been looking at the instructions for the Strait-Line Weight Distribution Dual Cam System, part # RP66087.
In the instructions the only note that states how to release the spring bar is to lift the bar and rotate it so that the notch on the spring bar and the tab in the upper sock are lined up, and this will allow the spring bar to drop out of the ballmount. Another note says to put several drops of lubricating oil at the spring bar and ballmount contact points. When not using the system excess oil and dirt should be wiped off.
When making adjustments to the spring bars you want to make sure your setup looks like the attached drawing.
