Troubleshooting Hopkins Agility Brake Controller

I spoke with my contact at Hopkins and they told me there are a couple of things you can check on your Hopkins Agility Trailer Brake Controller, part # HM47294.
The first thing to check is the red wire the brake controller is attached to. If it shows current all the time then there is a problem with the wiring. This should only show current when the brake pedal is pressed.
Next, check the manual override switch. If it has somehow become stuck or engaged it could give you the reading you are experiencing.
They told me that there should be no reading unless the manual override is engaged or if the brake pedal is pressed. If everything checks out okay but you are still getting the numbers showing, the controller may be bad and needs to be replaced.
