Can Rack'Em Double Barrel Trailer Tailgate Assist Be Mounted Vertically On Trailer
Question:
I am interested in the double barrel liftgate helper system. I have a box truck and want to mount it vertically, as sides of a box truck are thin aluminum. is that possible? It looks like it should be able to mount that way. Gate weighs around 250 lbs I am guessing.

I spoke with my contact at Rack'em about the Rack'em Double Barrel Trailer Tailgate Assist, part # RA-27C, and they told me that this system is not designed to be mounted vertically and it could impede the performance if mounted in a manner other than what it is designed for.
They said it is to be mounted horizontally 10 to 15 inches from the floor of the trailer in order to work the way it was designed.
