Question:

Are you able to lower the rack, with 4 bikes on, to get access to the rear hatch of a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

The Thule Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR tilts away from the vehicle before the bikes are loaded. This is handy when you leave it on your vehicle, but you are not using it to carry bikes. You can't tilt this rack with the bikes loaded. I do have a great solution for you though as long as your Jeep has a 2" hitch.

You can can check out the Inno Tire Hold rack # INH142. It is a great rack that tilts away from the vehicle with the bikes loaded. However, this might only give you partial access tot he hatch of your 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Check out the video and see what you think.

My recommendation would be the Yakima FullSwing # Y02465. This rack swings away from the rear of your vehicle and off to the side with bikes loaded. This gives you full cargo access. Check out the video of this amazing rack.

If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # 64005. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have to use these adapters and without them my wife's bike would be at a severe angle and I would not be able to load my son's bike at all. I have linked a video showing how the adapter works.
