Would Using an Air Bag System to Raise a Vehicle 1-1/2 Inches Cause Harsh Ride Quality
Question:
I dropped the rear of my Dodge Ram with Bel Tech lowering leaf springs. It was supposed to 3 inches but went down 4 3/8. I need to raise the rear back up about 1 1/2 inches to level out the rear to the front. Would the Air Lift Slam Air bags PN #55113 enable me to raise the back of the truck 1 1/2 inches without using too much air pressure. I dont want to stiffen the ride. Also, would the Air Spring kit work the same PN #59551?

Expert Reply:
If you want to raise the ride height of a vehicle by 1-1/2 inches you would have to use quite a bit of air pressure. Enough pressure to cause a much noticeable rougher ride. The best overall solution I could recommend for you would be to contact the lowering kit manufacturer you used and see why your truck dropped more than the kit was advertised for. You may have done something wrong or they sent you the wrong parts as typically lowering kits are not off by almost 1-1/2 inches.
