How Tight Should the Pivot Bolt of the Dexter EZ FLEX Equalizers Be

Question:

I have a 2013 Cedar Creek 36 CKTS. I am getting ready to take a long road trip from Kentucky to Colorado. In preparing I checked under the camper. I found on the Dexter EZ flex that on the center pivot bolt the nut on the inside is loose and only finger tight. Also, the threaded portion of the thru bolt does not protrude enough to fully engage the threads on the nut. I checked and the bolt is tight. I am concern if I try to tighten the nut it may strip the threads. Any suggestions?

The center bolt on the E-Z Flez equalizers like the part # K71-653-00 should be tight enough so that it doesn't come off, but not tight enough that it prevents the two pieces of the equalizer from moving. My contact at Dexter recommended 70 ft lbs of torque.
