Recommended Bike Carrier For 2013 Toyota Prius

Question:

I am looking for a 2-bike hitch rack for a 2013 Prius. I'm wondering if there is an advantage of a platform vs. hanging rack. Also, I need a rack with good ground clearance because the Prius sits low to start with. I'm looking at the Swagman XTC-2, the Swagman Trailhead, and the Swagman Titan 2, as well as the Thule Doubletrack, the Rola TX-102, and the Thule Helium Aero 2 which looks great but is a lot more money. I need to be able to carry both road bikes and mountain bikes. Can you help me sort these out?

When looking at the difference between the hanging bike racks and platform-style carriers, there will be a few things you may want to note. A platform-style carrier will be easier to load and unload, and since you said you are planning on carrying mountain bikes and road bikes, this may be your best option.
