Will the Reese goose box work with with a recessed 5th wheel on a flat bed?

That part of the Goose Box # RP85FR that sticks down below the body of the pin box and couples to a gooseneck ball is approximately 11 inches wide at the widest point and 8-3/8 inches front to back at the longest point. You would need to have a cut out in the flat bed around the gooseneck ball that is greater than those dimensions to ensure that it can rotate without hitting the gooseneck bed.
A 16 x 16 inch opening would be plenty large enough. That is what I have seen on flat beds before.
