Replacing OEM Brake Controller on 2006 Ford F350 w/ One That's Electric Over Hydraulic Compatible
Question:
I have a 2006 ford f350 w factory brake controller.need to disconnect the factory and install new controller that works with electric/ hydraulic brake sytem on my boat trailer. Is there a wiring harness to quickly hook up a new controller ???

There is indeed a wiring adapter harness available. For a brake controller that's compatible with electric over hydraulic brakes, you can't go wrong with the Tekonsha P3, part # 90195 which you'd use with the # 3065-P harness. You'll need to unplug the connector from the rear of the OEM controller, and plug it into the 3065-P harness which would in turn plug into the P3. An error code will be shown on the dash, as the vehicle computer will continue to look for input from the disconnected OEM brake controller. You'll need to have the computer flashed at your Ford Dealer to get rid of the error code.
