Special Considerations for Rooftop Cargo Carrier on 2014 Nissan Pathfinder

Question:

We have a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder with the factory side roof rails AND the factory cross bars. Is there any reason I would need an aftermarket cross bar instead of the factory ones in order to install a cargo box? Will the Yakima Rocketbox Pro 14 fit? If not, which Yakima boxes will fit? Are there any Thule boxes that will fit? Thank you so much for your help, we have a trip coming up in one week that Im contemplating buying a rooftop box for.

The good news is you will not need aftermarket crossbars to use the following recommended rooftop cargo boxes.

The Yakima Rocketbox Pro 14, part # Y07192, which you referenced, is a 14 cubic foot box and a confirmed fit for your 2014 Nissan Pathfinder with factory crossbars. I have included a link to a video review and installation instructions of the Rocketbox Pro 14 for you to check out.

For a Thule rooftop cargo box, I recommend the Pulse Large Rooftop Cargo Box # TH614. This is also a 14 cubic foot box that, according to my contact at Thule, is a confirmed fit for your 2014 Nissan Pathfinder with factory crossbars.
