Are Base Plates Necessary to Tow 2005 Chevy Aveo with a Tow Bar
Question:
Need To know if A base plate is need when you buy a tow bar
asked by: Brent
Expert Reply:
A vehicle specific Base Plate Kit is required to complete the connection between the tow bar system and the towed vehicle. The base plates remain permanently affixed to the vehicle being towed.
A 2005 Chevy Aveo would need the part # 3129-1 XL Style Base Plate Kit. You would then choose a tow bar with the features you want that is compatible with the XL style base plates. The Roadmaster Tracker Tow Bar, part # RM-020, or any other tow bar that is compatible with the XL base plates would work fine with the base plates for your Aveo
