Can Hardware for Curt Gooseneck Trailer Hitch C-52 be Reused on a Different Truck
Question:
I bought a very good used hitch with all the rails and bolts. Do you recommend using the original used bolts or should I use new grade 8 bolts? Also where can I get instructions and a diagram of where I need to drill the wholes to mount the hitch properly. I want to do it right the first time and correctly. Is it easy to install it or should i have a qualified mechanic install it?

You will want to use new hardware because the original hardware is meant for one-time installation only and should not be torqued down again. The bolts stretch when torqued so they wouldn't work properly.
For installation I have included a link to the installation details for you. The Curt hitch # C-52 can be used with universal rail kit # C61502 and I have linked its instructions as well but they are sparse.
Basically you will need to have the gooseneck ball centered over the rear axle or a couple inches forward of the rear axle. But definitely not behind the rear axle.
Installation takes a long time and is fairly involved. If you do not have a good amount of automotive project experience the installation is best left to a professional.
