Where to Place ATVs on Trailer According to Weight
Question:
I have a 20 foot snowmobile trailer with two axels. I have a side by side utv that weighs 1165 lbs. and also have a atv that weighs 487 lbs. My question is where on the trailer should I position the utv and the atv?

When loading a trailer you want to have as much of the weight of the cargo as far forward as possible, otherwise the trailer will sway. In your case I would recommend putting the heavier side by side in the front of the trailer and the ATV behind it.
I attached an article with other tips on towing a trailer for you to check out as well.
If your trailer and cargo weigh more than 50 percent of the total weight I would also recommend you look into a weight distribution system.
The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow, this figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached an FAQ on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well.
