Can Stromberg Carlson 2 Bike Carrier for RV Ladder # LA-102 Be Used With Two Electric Townie Bikes
Question:
Stromberg Carlson 2 Bike Carrier for RVs - Ladder Mount - Aluminum I have 2 Electra Townie bikes, a mans and a womens. They are not your typical bike frame. They are also a bit bulky. Will this ladder rack work for me? It will be used on a 2007 HR Neptune XL.

The Stromberg Carlson 2 Bike Carrier for RV Ladders # LA-102 has a maximum weight capacity of 25-lbs per bike. I contacted Electra Bicycles to find out the weights of their various Townie models (as this is not provided on their website) and they advised that their lightest models in the Townie series are 35-lbs. This makes the Stromberg Carlson RV rack unsuitable for your particular bikes.
We offer a similar ladder-mount RV bike rack from Surco, part # SP501BR, that offers a higher weight capacity of 75-lbs total for the two bikes. If your two particular Townie bikes have a combined weight of 75-lbs or less then this rack will work for you. This rack has the highest weight rating of all available ladder-mount bike racks. Please take a look at the linked video for more on the Surco rack.
