Will Plastic Stem and Rubber Socket Door Holder Work on Door with 50mm Gap Between Door and Trailer
Question:
The information on this door hold indicates 2 1/4inch gap between trailer and door. I assume this is with the door and trailer side parallel. I want to use this product to hold a service door on a log loader. The gap with the door parallel to the side housing is 50mm. Therefore the door and side housing will not be parallel and the stem will not align with the socket. Do you know how much misalignment this door hold can accommodate?

Expert Reply:
Fifty millimeters is approximately 2 inches which is close to the stated 2-1/4 gap created by the stem and socket door holder # DH39R. They will still line up fine. The fact that the gap you have with the door parallel is 2 inches means that the system will still work. It doesn't have to be 2-1/4 inches for this unit to work. But it will be 2-1/4 inches after it is installed.
