Solution for Backup Sensor Alerts on a 2014 BMW X5 When Carrying a Bike Rack
Question:
I have a 2014 BMW X5 with OEM hitch and wiring. When I attach a hitch mounted bike rack, the park distance control beeps at me. Will this product fool the car into thinking there is a trailer attached so that the PDC will stop beeping at me?

Yes it would, your 2014 BMW X5 will disable the backup alert system when it senses a trailer connected to the trailer wiring. So the load resistors in the 7-Way to 5-Way and 4-Way Trailer Adapter # C35FR that you referenced would trick the vehicle into thinking a trailer is connected and and the sensors would not activate because of the brake controller.
Another trick that people use with your vehicle is to tape over the sensors with masking tape.
