Recommendation to Gain Ground Clearance When Carrying a Scooter Carrier and Scooter
Question:
I have a curt C13362 trailer hitch. I mount a Tilt-A-Rack mobility scooter carrier witch weighs 80 lbs. My scooter with batteries weighs 158 lbs. The carrier and scooter is a total of 238 lbs. When the carrier is empty and raised to the vertical position I have only 6.5inch ground clearance 11inch from hitch receiver to back of the carrier. I have air shocks on my 2002 Chrysler town and country. I have seen the Hi-Lo extensions, but Im afraid they would not work in this situation. With all I have read about them. I fear they would lower the tongue weightinch and I prefer not to turn around to pick up my carrier and scooter. Does any one have any suggestion how to get this equipment a little higher off the ground. If somebody can help, please pass along the information. Tired of dragging bottom

What I would recommend is the Curt MultiPurpose Ball mount part # D210. This product will give you 6 inches of rise for your carrier without cutting the tongue weight of your hitch in half like most hitch extenders do.
