Cargo Carrier Recommendation 2007 Toyota Sienna

Question:

I am looking to buy a cargo carrier for my 2007 toyota sienna with curt trailer hitch. Do I need a raised shank carrier like on the curt 18152 for increased ground clearance, or can I get away with a straight shank model? Is the 60 inch width too much for the sienna?

Helpful Expert Reply:

I would recommend going with a cargo carrier with a rise in the shank for increased ground clearance because not only is it a good idea, but most of the cargo carriers have a rise built into the shanks so it would be easier to find the right one if you include the ones with rise shanks.

The 60 inches wide would not be too wide either. The cargo carrier would still be narrower than the width of your vehicle. Check out the review video I attached for a similar Curt cargo carrier that is 60 inches wide on a similar Toyota Sienna as yours. The # C18152 should work well as long as you have a 2 inch hitch on your vehicle like the # C13105. This hitch only has 12 inches of ground clearance so a rise in the shank would be a great idea.
