Folding Steel Hitch-Mount Cargo Carrier for Use in 2-Inch Factory Hitch on 2001 Chevrolet Suburban
Question:
I am looking for a hitch mounted cargo carrier. Ive got a 01 Suburban with a factory trailer, so I am looking at a class III or IV. I want the folding option and one in steel. Looks like youve got a number of choices. Based on hitch mounted bike racks Ive previously owned, Id like to have one with the anti-sway/rocking feature that tightens down the cargo rack. Which mfrs or models offer this? BTW, you guys have a great site. Ive purchased trailer parts/tires from you guys in the past.

We do indeed offer folding steel hitch-mount cargo carriers for your Suburban's 2-inch factory hitch but an anti-rattle hitch stabilizer/lock will be an add-on accessory item. You can use the anti-rattle lock # e99047 which is shown in the linked video.
The link provided will take you to our main page for all folding steel flat hitch carriers. These vary in their dimensions and weight capacities.
Please note that the tongue weight capacity of your hitch should be indicated on its safety/warning sticker. The total combined weight of the carrier you choose plus what you load in it must remain within the hitch's tongue weight capacity.
You'll also want to take one simple measurement of your hitch to confirm compatibility with the carrier you prefer. Simply measure from the center of the hitch pin hole to the rear-most part of the vehicle. This will tell you how much clearance you need from a carrier. The etrailer 24x60 Cargo Carrier # e98874 for example (shown in the linked video) offers 9-1/2 inches of clearance when folded up and 19-1/2 inches when in the down position.
