Troubleshooting 12 Volt Power Circuit not Functioning on 7-Way After Re-Wire

Question:

I cant find a bad fuse? It worked on my new trailer,but got a used horse trailer friday and someone had some wires crossed.Got color line backup,but no power to 12v pin now.Also brake actuator does not work now.It did in reverse because the had they the blue wire connected to middle pin,which is reverse.I got power on blue wire that matches the brake controller.

There could be corrosion or dirt inside your 7-way that needs to be cleaned out before all of the circuits of the 7-way will activate. That's the most common reason circuits on a 7-way won't function properly.

You can test this easily by using a circuit tester like our part # C73NR to test the wires that feed into the 7-way on the circuits that aren't functioning. If the wires have voltage but not the pins the problem is corrosion or dirt on the inside or outside of the connector.

Also, wire colors aren't always reliable when wiring up a connector. You would be better off wiring by function instead. You would want to use the # C73NR to test the wires for voltage when various turn signals are applied, label them, and then wire the connector according to the diagram I attached.
