Will Grease Seal # 168233 Fit in Place of a Wider 0.41 Inch Thick Grease Seal
Question:
I would like to know the width to this oil seal? Is the width 0.41 on this seal? I see the cross reference to this seal has a width of .313. Will the difference in width make it non compatible for my application.I have been searching for this seal replacement for several days. Please your assistance is greatly appreciated. I should have made better plans at repacking my wheel bearings on my boat trailer last week instead of last minute. I assumed that I could just find the replacement seal easily. I have purchased this seal before from a northern store, but they no longer carry them. If the .41 width is the width on the part #168233. I will be purchasing at least 8 or more from you e-trailer, so I dont have to go searching to the end of the rainbow for this product. Let me know if the .313 will work as a temporary fix. Worst case scenario if 168233 is the correct fit I need how much would it cost to have it overnight shipped?

Double lip seal # 168233 should work just fine for you even though it is a little thinner than the seal you are looking for. If you could tell me what the inner and outer bearing numbers are I can determine if this is the best option or if there is something else that would work for you. But there are no other seals that have the same inner and outer diameter as this seal.
Any time you pull a hub to pack bearings or replace anything inside the hub you are going to end up needing a new seal. Getting extras like you said would be a good idea.
