Enclosed Cargo Carrier Recommendation for a 2004 Chevy Suburban to Allow Hatch to Open

With the 13 inches of clearance on the hitch will the rear hatch of a suburban open with this in place?

I have a solution for you, but with the Carpod Cargo Carrier # M2205-01-02 installed on your 2004 Chevy Suburban you would not be able to open the rear hatch with the carrier installed.

Instead, I would recommend the Yakima EXO Swing Away Enclosed Cargo Carrier - 2" Hitches - 10 cu ft - 100 lbs
Item # Y62VR as this carrier will swing out away from the tow vehicle to give you complete access to the rear of your vehicle and would allow you to open the hatch.
