Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 1999 Ford F-250 with 7.3 Diesel
Question:
Hello, I am just curious whats your guys opinion on what for transmission cooler I should buy for my 99 f250 7.3 diesel engine, 4R100 transmission. I have to have my transmission rebuilt because recently it had went and I have researched that I should buy a new cooler as well because there are metal shavings throughout the entire cooler, transmission and torque converter. Transmission coolers are universal fit items. What you will need to do is find out how much room you have to work with in front of your radiator and find a transmission cooler that will fit your application. Choosing the largest available cooler like Derale Series 8000 Transmission Cooler Kit, part # D13504, is a good choice, because you cannot over-cool a transmission.
