I spoke with my contact at Roadmaster and Base Plate Kit, # 916-1, is the correct base plate kit for your 2005 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport Wagon.
The RoadMaster Tracker Tow Bar, # RM-020, can be used with all Roadmaster base plate applications. You will need to add a Roadmaster Tow Bar Quick Disconnect Kit, # RM-201, to your base plates to be able to easily remove the tow bar and receivers when not towing the Impreza.
To complete your towing kit you will need safety cables like # RM-645, if you plan on wrapping the cables around the legs of the tow bar. If you prefer coiled cables, # RM-643 would be a good choice.
For lighting, I recommend the Magnetic Towing Light Kit, # RM-2120, which would be good if you do not tow often.
Most states require a supplemental braking system when flat-towing a vehicle. I recommend the Roadmaster Even Brake Portable Braking System, # RM-9400. The # RM-9400 will help you slow down faster and help reduce wear on your towing vehicle's brakes.
You should contact your owner's manual for additional steps needed when flat-towing. Some vehicles must be equipped with a transmission lube pump, axle disconnect or free-wheeling hubs before being towed.
I have linked an FAQ on flat-towing that you may find as a good reference.
