Fifth Wheel to Gooseneck Rail Adapter Recommendation for a 2012 Ram 3500
Question:
I have a 2012 RAM 3500 HD dually long bed that currently has 5th wheel rails and I need to get a gooseneck adaptor. I have been looking at your website at both adaptors Curt 16055 and the Curt Spyder and I am unsure of which one to get. I will be towing a gooseneck horse trailer that weighs approx. 9540 lbs. I do not know the type of rails installed came with the truck is there a way to determine the make and type? Thanks for your assistance in this matter.

As long as the rails installed in your 2012 Ram 3500HD are the industry standard rails either the Curt Adapter part # 16055 or the Curt Spyder part # 16085 would work for you. The brand will not matter as all of the manufacturers make them to the same dimensions.
I attached a picture that has all of the dimensions listed for the industry standard rails that you could compare yours to.
With that being said, I would go with the # 16055. It costs less and has the same capacity as the Spyder. My sister uses this on her truck and it works perfectly.
