Does the # 34823 Seal in Bearing Kit # DL21792 Match a # 7781 S
Question:
I have a trailer that has been converted to a flat bed from an old pop up camper. Wheel bearings are the L44643 with the L44610 cup at the ineer and outer side of the hub. The oil seal shows a part # 7781 S, I think National. Does the 34823 seal in this kit match the 7781 S? Thanks!

The information that I was able to find on the oil seal # 7781S shows that it has an outer diameter of 1.989 inches and works with oil bath or grease-able hubs.
The Bearing Kit with Grease Cap, # DL21792, includes Grease Seal, # 34823, which only works with grease-able hubs. I pulled the seal from our warehouse and it's outer diameter measures 1.983 inches.
The # 34823 and the # 7781 S aren't an exact match, but the outer diameter measurements are very close. If you have grease-able hubs this seal may work for you but I recommend measuring the inner diameter of the hub bore, where the grease seal sits, using a precise measure tool like a dial caliper to make sure. If your hub bore is 1.983 inches or larger, the # 34823 will not work for you and I recommend replacing the your seal with the original # 7781 S.
