Will Kodiak Hydraulic Brake Hose Work On Trailer
Question:
Hi, I have all flexible brake lines on my trailer another brand except for one 18foot section that I had to replace with a rigid steel tube when I had a problem out in the boondocks. Now its time to get a new section of flexible line to get all back up to snuff. I could get a 20foot section of the original brand, but would rather not for two reasons: 1 I only need about 17foot and you sell an 18foot section, which will be tidier. 2 You dont sell the other brand, and I want to order from e-trailer because you rock! Sadly, I cannot find all the specs on my original line. So here is what I need to figure out maybe it will help others as well: 1 Your hose says it is 1/8inch inner hose diameter. Is this the usualinch size? My other flexible line looks similar, but if there is more than one usual size, I may need to stick with the other brand just to be sure its a tandem axle boat trailer with disc brakes and hydraulic/surge actuator. 2 Your hose mentions fitting size 3/16 thread size 3/8 Do I need to worry about the 3/16inch measurement? My hoses do have 3/8inch threaded fittings on the very end, which I think your Kodiak ones do too. I dont have that little gap between the two parts of the fitting where they say you can put a wrench, but maybe that is just a bonus for the Kodiak lines you carry ironically I do have Kodiak brakes, but just another brand of brake lines. I think these lines will probably be fine, but... figured Id ask because its easier than ordering and then potentially finding out they are not correct. I have attached a photo which shows the junction of the temporary hard metal brake line with one of the existing soft brake lines one of the soft brake lines had a problem and I had to replace it on the road and could only get the hard line at the time. Maybe you can tell if the Kodiak soft lines you carry would fit properly. Thank you! Pat

The Kodiak Hydraulic Brake Hose w/ Stainless Flares, part # BH-3MFS-18, you referenced has the standard 3/16 inch male fittings and 3/8 inch thread size so this should work fine for you. From the looks of the photo you sent, the brass coupler being used appears to fit a standard size brake line.
