Does Plastic Trim Piece in 2014 Ram 2500 have to be Removed to Install a Front Mount Hitch
Question:
I recently purchased a 2014 Ram 2500 with the 5.7 Hemi. My truck has plastic louvers recessed in the bumper hole. I suppose this would need to be removed prior to hitch instal? The truck in the video doesnt have this louver unless it had been removed also. I do have tow hooks though.

I believe I know what you are talking about. It is basically a trim piece that occupies the same space the front hitch # 65063 would when installed. That will have to come out to install the hitch based on what I have seen on the 2014 Rams.
But it might not. The only way to know for sure is to install the hitch. Basically the hitch attaches to the same place as the tow hooks and the tow hooks will be retained. But the receiver and cross member are out a few inches from the mounting point so you may not have to remove that piece. There way the hitch will then be there blocking that piece or what is behind it. I have linked the instructions for you.
