5th Wheel Trailer Hitches that Fit 2014 Ram 2500 with Factory 5th Wheel Prep Package

Question:

does dodge prep their trucks for fifth wheel installations but not drill through the beds of the trucks? If so, would you tell me what part goes into my truck so i can install a Husky 16W

Whether your 2014 Ram 2500 has the factory 5th wheel prep package or if you have to add an aftermarket installation kit to install a hitch, there are going to be holes in the truck bed. The factory prep package will have pucks that are already there and no additional drilling is needed.

To install a Husky 5th wheel hitch in a Ram that has the factory prep package you will have to use the adapter, # RP30154. The Husky hitch will fit this adapter. And the hitch can be either fixed or a slider, the adapter will accept either style.

Another option is to use a hitch that fits directly into the prep package pucks without the use of an adapter such as the Reese hitch # RP37FR. Please note that this hitch is not a slider so if you have a short bed truck you would also need a Sidewinder to replace the trailer pin box if there is one that will fit.
