Will an ST165/65-8 Trailer Tire Fit In Place of a 4.80-8 Trailer Tire

Question:

AM3H200 I am considering switching from my 4.80-8 rims/tires to the 165-65/8 AM3H200 setup. What is the dimension of the hub offset to the inboard plane of the tire/rim? I want to make sure the axial dimension width fits within the fender and dont have to modify.

The measurement you are seeking is the backspacing. On just the wheel included with tire and wheel combo # AM3H200, would be approximately 3-1/4 inches measured from the mounting surface of the wheel to outside of the wheel (inboard or outboard since the wheel has a zero offset). The width of the tire though will be 6.6 inches. This is 2 inches wider than the 4.80-8 tires and wheels. The larger size will be 1 inch closer to the trailer frame. But it will only be 0.2 inches closer to the fender.
