Fit of Hollywood Racks Road Runner Bike Rack # HR320 on 2009 Toyota Rav4

Question:

Hi, I am looking for a 3 bike stand to fit a 2inch hitch receiver for my 2009 Rav 4. I was wondering if the product - Hollywood Racks Road Runner 3 Bike Carrier for 2inch Hitches - Extended Shank - Tilting - would be ideal for my purpose. Will the extended 20inch arm which comes with the product above, provide enough clearance between the back tire and the bike stand? Thanks

To determine the amount of clearance you'll need, you would need to take a simple measurement. Measure the distance from the hitch pin hole in the receiver rearward until you clear the spare tire on the rear of the vehicle.

The distance from the hitch pin hole in the shank to the rear of the upright portion of the rack measures 15 inches. As long as the measurement you take is less than that, the rack will work just fine for you. I'll link you to a helpful article that shows how to take the measurement. Although the rack will clear it by a mile, I'd recommend taking the measurement just to be sure.

If you'll be carrying women's bikes or bikes with sharply angled top tubes, I'd recommend using a frame adapter bar like part # 64005. The bar spans the distance between the handlebar gooseneck and the seat post tube, providing a level attachment point to the bike rack, which improves ground clearance.
