How to Wire a Brake Controller to a 2003 Toyota Tundra

Question:

I noticed I have a 5 pin factory installed at the plug: Black/red stripe Brown Green Green/white stripe Blue I do not have a red wire at the factory harness. How would I wire this without the adapter plug for a Hopkins #47235 Brake controller. Thank-you

Manufacturers aren't always completely consistent when using wiring colors. Some years there can be some variances. For example, it looks like the blue wire you found instead of the red wire is the brake output circuit and should be connected to the blue wire of your controller

The black/red wire goes to the black wire of the controller
The Green/white wire goes to the red wire of the controller
The brown wire goes to the white of the controller

The green wire would not be used.
