Will Longer Leaf Spring Shackle Links Provide More Clearance Between Tire and Underside of Fender
Question:
I have a 1993 cajun boat trailer, single axle. Double eye springs, front hanger is welded to frame, 3.25 from top to hole center. back hanger moves up and down and measures 2.5 bolt hole to bolt hole. it only gives me about 1foot clearance between fender and the top of the tire. Can i put on a longer shackel on the rear to get clearance?

There are a few ways to gain additional clearance between your tire and fender, but going with longer shackle straps won't accomplish what you're looking for.
The best way to proceed would be to either raise the fenders, if possible or go with taller spring hangers. Keep in mind that because a suspension articulates, going with a one inch taller hanger won't necessarily provide an additional inch of height. Going with a smaller diameter wheel/tire combo would work as well.
