Will a Bike with 29 Inch Tires Fit the Hollywood Racks Bicycle Parking Stand

Question:

Will the bike rack work with 29 inch tires? Weve found some racks that our 29er tandem wont fit or just barely fit. The tire fits through the slot, but the tire wont go far enough into the slot so the bike is stable.

The full diameter of a bike tire would not be inserted into the supports of the Hollywood Racks bike parking stand # HRPS10 so the stand should still accommodate a bike with 29s. But only just. The opening is 25-5/8 inches tall so only part of the tire would fit in the opening.

We have one of these set up here and the largest bike tire currently in it is 27 inches in diameter. There is some space left over so I am confident that a 29er would fit. Large knobby tires would not fit as well.

Swagman bike stand # S64018 would be a better option since it is open at the top. I have linked a video review of this stand as well as a link to all of the stands we carry.
