How to Find Replacement Leaf Springs for an Old Boat Trailer
Question:
can You please help me choose the correct Leaf spring . My small boat trailers old springs are 3 leaf and Measurements are.... 1.75 inches wide x A measurement = 27 1/4 long x D measurement = 12 inches center of front hole to center of axle dimension. However these old springs have stretched, so these dimension are not dead accurate But what they currently measure. The rear of these are slip type I have considered part SP-106275 even though it is a 5 leaf rather than a 3 leaf because of the last dimension listed above. The 3 leaf springs that I am removing has lasted since 1975. Please advise my best option. Thank You

Thank you for providing the information about your slipper springs, it is very helpful. To make sure I recommend the correct springs for your boat trailer, I will need a little more information. Can you tell me the weight capacity of your axle and the distance between your leaf spring hangers on center (see photo). From that, I can tell you what springs your trailer requires.
A 5-leaf springs will have a much higher weight capacity than a 3-leaf springs and may be too big for your trailer. Using significantly stronger leaf springs will create a rough ride for the trailer and the boat.
