Availability of Extendable Side Mirrors for a 2011 Ford Ranger Sport 4X4 With 4.0 engine.

Question:

Does anybody have a master cross reference index for car parts of different makes, Ford, Chevy, Dodge, etc. I want to put extendable mirrors on my 2011 Ranger but nothing in the Ford line will fit or is even close to the same size for modifying. I,ve notice that the Chevy pickup has almost the same foot print as the Ranger and youtube shows a similar attaching point. None show the actual setup as far as how far the studs are, how big is the triangle footprint compared to a Ranger. Ive been to the junk yard to try and find chevy door mirrors to see what their measurements are but cant find any? I live in Las vegas and there are plenty of junk yards. I havent called Chevy dealers cause the help I got from Ford was not good. I think the days of the part guy knowing all about cars and trucks is gone. Ford knew just what the computer showed them. When I was in Germany years ago, years and years ago, we had a cross reference index. Its amazing how many BMW parts fit Ford, Toyota etc.

I am not aware of any all-inclusive cross reference of cross-compatible OEM auto parts from different makers. The mirrors we offer are not OEM replacements, however we do have universal-fit towing mirrors intended for installation on factory mirrors to extend your viewing angle when towing. We also offer universal-fit door-mount and fender-mount types.

The link provided will show you all such universal-fit mirrors; you can use the filters in the left-hand margin to narrow the results based on your preferences. A popular clip-on towing mirror is the K-Source # KS3891 which is sold individually.
