Replacement Hubs for Enclosed Snowmobile Trailer
Question:
I need to replace the hubs on my Rance enclosed snowmobile trailer. The hub numbers are Dexter PN 8-247 and 8-248. Can you recommend what products to use for replacement hub assemblies? Thank You.

The Dexter Trailer Hub/Drum Assembly # 8-247-50UC3-EZ that you referenced is intended for 3500-lb axles with drum brakes that have number 84 EZ-Lube spindles. The other hub you referenced, part # 84545UC1-EZ, is an idler hub (for no brakes applications) in the same 5-on-4-1/2-inch bolt pattern also for 3500-lb axles with EZ-Lube spindles. The linked video reviews this item.
The best way to match up new hubs is to gather the parts numbers from the existing bearings to ensure they match those supplied with the replacement hub kit. Both of the referenced hubs use the same set of bearings, inner bearing # L68149 and outer bearing # L44649. As long as you can match your original bearing numbers, wheel bolt pattern and axle weight rating to these replacements then they will work fine.
I have also linked an article and video on bearing and hub replacement along with a link to our main page for hubs where you can sort the results based on the characteristics you need.
