Trunk Mount Bike Rack for a 2014 Jeep Compass with Spoiler

Question:

Just left my local bike shop and talked to the salesman and asked his thoughts about the durability of the spoiler on the Compass. It seems a little flimsy and wondered how well it will stand up the weight of the bike put on it by the straps attaching to the front of it?

What you need is the Over-The-Top rack # HRF2. This rack was specifically designed to work with vehicles that have the spoiler. It has an additional upper arm piece that moves the top straps up and over the spoiler so no weight is put on it. I have linked a video showing how it works.

If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # 64005. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance.
