Fifth Wheel Rail Compatibility Husky Versus Reese

Question:

I have a 2006 Ford F250 with rails that were mounted for a 16K Husky Slider Hitch. Unfortunately my hitch was stolen, so now I have to replace it. Ive located a 16K Reese Slider Hitch at a reasonable price. Should the rails I have in my truck for the Husky hitch be compatible for the Reese hitch?

Helpful Expert Reply:

Husky and Reese fifth wheel hitches both use industry standard bed rails, so the Reese Hitch should be perfectly compatible with your existing Husky rails.

I've provided a photo showing the slot spacing on Reese rails. You can compare that to the side to side and front to back dimensions between the hitch mounting tabs.

To provide a bit of security, in the future you can use the # 6014 pins, the # RP58093 pull pin lock plates and some # ML1KA padlocks. Even one of the pull pin lock plates with a padlock would provide some deterrence.
