Brake Controller Pulses Brakes with Flashers on a 1997 Ford F-250

Question:

I have a 97 Ford F-250 Diesel that I tow a travel trailer w/. When I turn on my 4 way flashers while towing it sends a matching pulse signal to the electric trailer brakes instead of the trailer turn signals. Bulbs work the same way but how do I NOT have the trailer brakes activated. I sometimes need the 4 ways on while towing up a teep incline and I cant as the trailer brakes pulsing defeat the whole idea so I drive w/ one turn signal on. People think Im trying to turn when Im not. Any info would help on the pulse preventer.

The pulse preventer, part # 5501, should stop this problem. The flashers are sending feed back into the brake controller and pulsing it.

Find the spot where the brake controller is spliced into the wire from the cold side of the stoplight switch. This is typically the red wire on the brake controller.

Then just past this (away from brake controller) cut the vehicle stoplight wire and install the Pulse Preventer inline with the yellow wire on the side that the stoplight switch and brake controller are on and the brown wire on the side going to the vehicles brake lights. This connection will stop the hazard signal from feeding back to the brake controller, eliminating the pulse problem.
