Compatibility of TowReady Replacement OEM Wiring Harness # 118267 with 2009 Nissan Pathfinder

I purchased 118267 Tow Ready Replacement OEM Tow Package Wiring Harness - 7-Way - Nissan Suzuki, which indicated it Connects directly to standard OEM connector , but the plug is a 6 wire and my 09 Pathfinder has an 8 wire, so it does not work.

My technical contact at TowReady advised that he has seen a few cases in 2008 model year Pathfinders where there is indeed an 8-pin connector as you describe on your 2009. Apparently this has on rare occasion been substituted for the usual wiring harness. It is not clear if this was a factory or dealership modification. There is no 7-way harness offered from TowReady to fit this 8-pin connector. I also checked with Curt. They have not heard of this issue; no 8-pin plug harness is offered.

I see that you also purchased a brake controller. You can still do a hard-wired brake controller/7-way installation on your Pathfinder by using the # ETBC7 kit. You will need to have a working 4-pole harness on your vehicle in order to do this. You can use # C59236 along with the # ETBC7. Two linked articles will help.

You might be able to get clarification from your local Nissan dealership.
