Can I use Hitch Adapter Part # HTAD to Use a Class 3 Scooter Carrier on my 1995 Ford Taurus  

Question:

I have a1995 Ford tarus with a class 2 reese hitch and iam looking for a class 3 so that I can put a scooter carrier on it to haul an electrice scooter. Scooter weight about 150lbs. will the adaptor work for me. thank you

You can use an adapter like part # HTAD, but it will reduce your hitch capacity by 50 percent. Your hitch should have a tongue weight capacity of 350 pounds, using this adapter would reduce the hitch capacity to 175 pounds. This means that the combined weight of the scooter and carrier must be 175 pounds or less. All of the 2 inch carriers we have are 80 pounds or more.

Unfortunately we don't have a class III hitch for your vehicle and also don't have hitch carrier with a ramp for class II hitches.
