Is there a Maximum Length a 5th Wheel Trailer Can be to Use 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Adapter CAB-C5G

Question:

I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 5.9 liter diesel with a 2and5/16inch gooseneck hitch. I am needing to buy a fith wheel hitch and am interested in purchasing it. My question is, my fifth wheel is 32foot in length, I met another person with your product. This person stated you cant tow a trailer thats over 30 ft or you risk the hitch breaking. Any info. regarding this would be greatly appreciated.

I spoke with my contacts over at Convert-A-Ball and there is no length requirement. So you can still use the adapter # CAB-C5G with your 32 foot long 5th wheel trailer.

There are other options for adapters though. I have included a link to our help article that covers the pros and cons of each type.

If the gooseneck hitch in your 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 happens to be a B&W Turnover ball then the best option is to use the Companion hitch # BWRVK3500. This is a 5th wheel hitch that mounts in the gooseneck ball hole of a B&W Turnover ball hitch.

The benefit of this is that the trailer pivot point is raised up, unlike on adapters such as # CAB-C5G, which will put less stress on the trailer.
