Bumper Clearance Concern For Yakima FullSwing Bike Carrier On 2007 Toyota Sienna
Question:
I have a 2007 Toyota Sienna, and want to have a hitch put on that will accommodate the new Yakima Fullswing bike rack. I have read some concerns about Siennas and clearance with the Curt hitches. Can you suggest which 2 inch hitch would be the best to install to accommodate this bike rack?

For your 2007 Toyota Sienna I recommend the Curt Class lll Round Tube Hitch, part # C13105. This hitch has a 2 inch receiver opening and is a good fit for your vehicle.
I have attached an installation video for this hitch on a 2007 Sienna. In the video the measurement is taken for clearance from the rear of the bumper. It is 4 inches.
If it is ground clearance you are concerned with when this hitch is installed it measures 10-1/4 inches from the ground to the top of the receiver tube.
The Yakima FullSwing 4-Bike Rack, part # Y02465 would work well with your Sienna. The distance from the hitch pin hole to the closest edge of the bike carrier is 6-1/2 inches, which will give you the clearance you were concerned with.
If you are carrying any bikes with alternative bike frames like kids bikes or women's bikes I recommend an adapter bar like part # Y02531. This bar attaches between the seat post and the handlebar stem and allows the bike to be carried more evenly in the carrier while providing additional ground clearance.
I have attached a product review video for the adapter bar you can check out.
