Does the 2007 Dodge Nitro Provide a Brake Controller Port Underneath the Dash
Question:
07 Dodge Nitro Is there factory wiring under the dash to plug into or do I have to run all the wires for a brake control? Thanks & Merry Christmas

The Dodge Nitro does not have a tow package or an under-dash brake controller port. You will need to hardwire the brake controller, but it is not a difficult project. To wire it into the vehicle, you will need to make 4 simple connections. I will run through the install below. These are the wires coming off the back of your brake controller.
First, disconnect the car battery to prevent any accidental shorts or shocks. Run the blue wire from the brake controller back to your 5,6, or 7-Way connector. This is the output wire that powers the trailer brakes. The white wire is the ground wire and needs to be attached to a good ground point. The black wire is for power and needs to be run to the battery with a 30amp breaker. The red wire is for brake signal and needs to be connected to the output wire of the brake pedal switch. Follow the brake pedal arm and you should see a switch it makes contact with when depressed. Find the wire off this switch that goes hot when you press the brake pedal. You can use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993.
Finally, you will need some sort of trailer connected that provides a post for a brake controller. Usually this is a 7-Way, and you would use kit part # ETBC7.
