Can Sidewinder Be Used With B & W Companion Fifth Wheel Hitch

It is not recommended to use a Sidewinder with a B & W Hitch because the hitch mounts in the gooseneck hole and the hitch itself will rotate when using a Sidewinder creating 2 pivot points which can cause loss of trailer control.

I recommend a fixed fifth wheel hitch and a Sidewinder for your 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 with the short bed. The fifth wheel hitch I recommend is the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch, part # RP30051. This is a dual jaw hitch that has a 16,000 lb gross towing capacity.

The custom installation kit for the above bed rails I recommend is the Reese Fifth Wheel Installation Kit, part # RP56001-53. Installation time is cut in half compared to the universal bracket systems. I have attached a link to an installation video for this kit on a Silverado you can check out.

The Sidewinder for your trailer would depend on the pin box you currently have. I have attached a helpful article you can check out. It has a chart that lists the pin boxes and the Sidewinder that would be the correct replacement.
