Draw-Tite # 5350 Recommendation for a 1996 Shasta 280 Motor Home
Question:
I bought a 1996 28foot Shasta Motor Home it had a draw tite hitch that attached to the side of the frame with 3 1/2inch bolts. The problem was that there was an extension left in that rusted tight and had extra holes drilled in it making it unsafe I feel to use towing. This hitch #82200 mounts on the bottom of the frame, there is one 1/2inch hole in the bottom of the frame that I think could be used, will drilling more holes in the frame weaken it too much?

Helpful Expert Reply:
Drilling an additional 2 1/2 inch holes in the frame of your 1996 28 foot Shasta Motor Home to install the Draw-Tite # 5350 would not weaken the frame. This hitch would work very well for you.
I attached installation instructions for you to check out also.
